Portable 11-Gallon Air Compressor
I was given an old leaky air compressor for the purpose of restoring it to working condition. Inspection revealed that the pressure vessel had rusted heavily within, rendering its walls hazardously thin and unsuitable for use. Rather than scrap the entire unit, I salvaged the pump, motor, and other components for reuse. I obtained a new pressure vessel from Canadian Tire, and with the help of a friend, cut and welded the original platform, stand, and wheel frame onto the new vessel. I then painted the entire unit firetruck red, and installed new fittings, adapters, wiring, hose, and copper piping. The new unit looked quite sleek, pressurized properly, and operated at a similar volume to before, but was now ready to be put back into regular use.
